As we are deep into our wonderful summer, I find myself pondering the question ‘what’s important?’  My answer in the moment tends to focus around what has to be done, so I end up with responses like: laundry, watering the flowers outside, checking my email...  Then I remind myself of the joy of summer and all it brings.  Why does the focus have to be on what needs to be done, not what would I enjoy doing?

It was late on a Friday.  I had worked hard all week.  I drove home in the snow clutching the steering wheel.  I wondered why I had even attempted the drive home, north of the city.  I should have just stayed in the city.  ‘I hate driving in the winter’ I muttered. 

Have you ever considered the value of footsteps?  That sound is so part of our lives that we don’t even hear them anymore.  Stop and listen right now. Do you hear any footsteps?  Listen, carefully.  Each step is a message. 

As the end of year approaches, I want to stop and give thanks.  Thank you my friends, colleagues and clients.  It has been a wonderful year.  Thank you for inviting me into your circle.  Thank you to those who have honored me by allowing me to coach you.  I continue to feel humbled and truly honored by your trust in me.  I so very much enjoy being part of your growth and learning.  It truly is a joy to see you grow and create greater positive moments as you move to fulfill your purpose.
